M3’s 7 speed double-clutch gearbox on 335i coupe and convertible
BMW announced the new 7 speed semi-automatic gearbox with double-clutch transmission for 335i coupe and 335i convertible models, named DKG. With a shift lever or via paddles on the steering wheel, the driver can control the gearbox changes. With this gearbox, the 335i coupe powered with an 3.0-liter engine (twin-turbocharged), which has 306hp complete the sprint from 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds, with a 0.1 second faster than the 335i six-speed manual transmission and 0.3 seconds than the 335i coupe, equipped with six-speed manual transmission.
If you have a car with that gearbox transmission you will see that the consumption of the car will be reduced with 5% than the previously 335i model with six-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission. The average fuel consumption of 335i coupe and 335i convertible with the new gearbox transmission (DKG) in the combined EU test cycle of 9.1liters/100km (25.9 mpg) and 8.8liters/100km (26.7 mpg).
